I am currently working on my final project at university, which is going to be a mix of photography and illustration. Because I haven't had a blog until now I'm going to be putting loads of ideas and research on here to show off what I am working towards.
At the moment the idea I have is to create a series of photographs that have illustrations worked into them. The photographs are going to tell a story about three brothers who have the kind of lifestyle we all want - stunning apartments, fancy bars, quirky coffee shops and fabulous clothes. I want them to be very stylised - with a touch of Wes Anderson to them. For those who do not have the same obsession with Wes Anderson as I do, he is a famous director whose films include The Darjeeling Limited, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic and The Fantastic Mr. Fox. His films all have the same aesthetic to them because he consistently uses set colour schemes, symmetry within the majority of scenes, and a shooting style of mid to head height so the audience feels as though they are there in the shot. Anderson also uses the same actors in a lot of his films, and his soundtracks use the same sort of music to one another, which helps build the "Wes Anderson" feeling that all his films have.
